WISERISE Fixed Foam Fire Protection

Fixed Foam Systems — High-Expansion & Low-Expansion

Class-compliant foam systems for machinery spaces, cargo pump rooms and deck areas. OEM concentrate & hardware compatibility managed per approvals.

High-Expansion Foam for machinery spaces
Low-Expansion Foam for deck/ro-ro/helideck uses
Class-ready documentation & testing

Foam Applications

Aligned with SOLAS II-2 / FSS Code Ch.6 for machinery spaces, cargo pump rooms and deck areas.

High-Expansion (Machinery Spaces)
Rapid volume fill for enclosed machinery spaces & cargo pump rooms to suppress oil fires and reduce heat.
Low-Expansion (Deck / Ro-Ro / Helideck)
Blanketing and cooling of spills/jet fires; monitors, proportioners and portable applicators.
Tankers & Cargo Areas
Low-exp deck foam per class; proportioning 1–3% as specified by approvals and equipment design.
Retrofit & Upgrades
Concentrate changeover, compatibility checks, nozzle/monitor replacement, logic integration.
Testing & Trials
Foam quality tests, discharge verification, records aligned with FSS requirements.
Lifecycle Support
Spare concentrates, proportioners, valves & generator parts with global shipping.

Foam Project Delivery Flow

From hazard analysis to class approval and commissioning—tailored for high-/low-expansion systems.

01
Hazard & Scope
Spaces & fuel types; choose high-exp (machinery) or low-exp (deck/ro-ro) per regulation.
02
Survey & Sizing
Generator/monitor layout, foam rate & quantity, proportioning method, discharge time criteria.
03
Engineering & Class Submittal
Calcs, P&IDs, GA, cause–effect; concentrate approvals and compatibility statements.
04
Procurement & Fabrication
Foam generators/monitors, proportioners, tanks, valves; FAT per class.
05
Installation & Commissioning
Pipework, proportioning checks, discharge tests, foam quality checks; records package.
06
Handover & Lifecycle
Class dossiers, crew training, periodic tests, concentrate renewals & service kits.

Compliance & Classification

Engineering & testing aligned with SOLAS II-2 and IMO FSS Code Chapter 6 (fixed foam), plus applicable class & MED approvals.

FSS Code Ch.6 — Fixed Foam Systems
High-exp & low-exp specifications; oil-fire suitability.
SOLAS II-2 Reg. 10 & Reg. 9 (High-Exp in Machinery)
Machinery/cargo pump rooms, discharge performance criteria.
Foam Concentrate Guidelines
Approval & compatibility rules; do not mix unlike types.
Flag & Port State
Documentation, drills & maintenance records.
Class: ABS • LR • DNV • CCS • BV
Submission packages, FAT/SAT witnessing as required.
MED / EU Implementing Reg.
Concentrate & components conformity (where applicable).

Inventory Snapshot — Foam

Foam concentrates and hardware held in Shanghai & Singapore for rapid support of machinery and deck foam systems. Compatibility per approvals.

Foam Concentrates (Hi-/Low-Expansion)
AFFF / AR-AFFF / Hi-exp concentrates with batch certificates and shelf-life tracking; no cross-mixing of unlike types/brands.
Proportioners & Eductors
Balanced-pressure proportioners, in-line eductors, around-the-pump sets; typical 1–3% (or per approval) with test kits and flow gauges.
Foam Pumps & Skid Components
Pump units, controllers, flow meters, strainer/filter assemblies—ready for retrofit or yard installation.
Foam Generators / Deck Monitors / Applicators
High-exp generators for machinery spaces; deck monitors and portable applicators for low-exp blanket & cooling.
Valves, Deluge & Manifolds
Selector valves, deluge valves, non-returns, pressure reliefs, manifolds—OEM-grade for compliant discharge networks.
Tanks (Bladder / Atmospheric) & Accessories
Foam tanks, level gauges, vents and fittings; spare nozzles and connection hardware for rapid replacement.

Customer Guidance & Applications

What to send for quotation, how we start, and where high- vs. low-expansion foam systems are best used.

Information Required for Quotation
  • Vessel/type & IMO; protected spaces; fuels/fluids involved
  • Class & flag requirements; deck/machinery scope; tanker/ro-ro specifics
  • Preferred ports & schedule; existing foam equipment & concentrate type
  • Any integration: detection, shutdowns, ventilation, remote release

Concentrate changeovers require compatibility checks and flushing plans.

High- vs. Low-Expansion — Where to Apply
  • High-Expansion: Machinery spaces & cargo pump rooms—rapid volume filling via generators for oil-fire suppression.
  • Low-Expansion: Tank deck/ro-ro/helideck—blanketing spills/jet fires using monitors or applicators; proportioning 1–3% (as approved).
  • Both require approved concentrates; do not mix unlike types or brands unless explicitly approved compatible.

Design ensures required discharge time, foam rate & total quantity per regulation and class.
